GIIS Bannerghatta has always been a home to some of the most talented students, and Meghna Paul of grade 6 is a testament to this fact. Meghna has been learning Seibudo Kai Karate-DO from a local training school and has participated in three competitions organized by the same school. Her outstanding performance in all three competitions has made her school and family proud.

Meghna’s father has always wanted his daughter to learn some form of martial arts and seeing her take up karate has filled him with pride. He believes that learning karate not only equips girls with self-defence skills but also instills self-confidence and self-esteem. This, in turn, also allows them to navigate life with less fear and a  fearless attitude. He now looks forward to seeing her acquire the next level of expertise in karate.

In the first competition, Meghna won the 3rd place in the Kata individual category and was awarded a bronze medal and certificate. In the Kumite individual event, she won third place and was awarded with a bronze medal, certificate, and trophy. Her outstanding performance continued in the Kumite Group section, where she bagged the second place and was awarded a silver medal, trophy, and certificate. Her hard work, dedication, and perseverance have paid off, and she has become a role model for her peers.

Meghna's passion for karate and her impressive performance in these competitions have proven that she has the potential to go a long way in this sport. She has made her school and family proud and serves as an inspiration to all aspiring martial artists out there. We wish her all the best for her future endeavours and hope to see her bring more laurels to GIIS Bannerghatta in the years to come.
