Global Indian International School, Bannerghatta (SMART) campus has rightfully proved that ‘Nature Befriends Global Education’. This project has brought us into the spotlight as a WINNER at the 32nd Qualtech Prize Virtual Edition under the 'Green Breakthroughs' category, organized by Qimpro on 22nd and 23rd January 2021. The year definitely gives us a happy green sign to celebrate as we welcome a new perspective of imparting world-class education in collaboration with Mother Nature.

QualTech Prize is an initiative by Qimpro - India’s first Quality Management Consultancy and this special category of awards were aimed to honor the commendable contributions of industries and institutions on the basis of 3 broad parameters namely, Product Effectiveness, Process Efficiency, and Planet Protection. GIIS Bannerghatta was among the 5 GIIS campuses that participated in this competition and a very strong contender amidst the big names such as Titan, HDFC Bank, SBI Life, Vedanta, L&T belonging to the Manufacturing and Service industries.

We chose, Nature Befriends Global Education as our theme to amplify the activities and the green thought, behind the development of the institution with world-class learning having the best of technology. Nestled in a picturesque infrastructure, to sustain the beauty of Nature, without disturbing the existing natural habitat, every plan inside the school is meant to maintain the contour of the landscape. Another important aspect that is all-pervading in here is the principle of coexistence and compatibility with Nature. The building is constructed using durable breathable materials i.e. no leads in the wall paints, etc., and energy savings, resource conservation, recycling is all measured.

With the aim to provide the best learning experience to each student, in a relaxing and calm environment, GIIS Bannerghatta campus has state-of-the-art infrastructure, with dedicated activity rooms that are scientifically designed for yoga, visual arts, performing arts, and indoor games. Furthermore, the scientifically designed Robotics and STEAM lab, IT lab, Maths lab for primary and secondary classes, smart boards for digital learning in every classroom, absolute reader-friendly library with wide genres of books, to meet all service requirements of the children, ensures a dynamic learning environment.

In a campus that is definitely a green school, judicially blended with technology, we have ensured that our construction has been focused on using breathable materials, the dense vegetation planted to protect the school from any sort of air pollution. The main objective was to have more natural light, watering the landscape from STP, use stones and pavers to stop the soil from being washed away due to rain. This unique and sustainable learning space is a complete “no plastic zone” meant to enrich the eco-friendly school culture scape.

Not just that, we have trained teachers and staff who sensitize our students about celebrating and enhancing the virtues of Nature. The activity “My Campus, My Tree”- an ongoing tree plantation drive with children aims to observe the growth of the plant as they grow up in school along with its metamorphosis. In the Eco Club, ‘Nurture the Nature’ activity sensitizes the children about the love for nature and imbibes in them to build a GREEN PLANET for the next generation. Children have also made green corners in the classroom with potted plants.

The creative galore of Nature centric activities helps every GIIS student to care for the greenery around the campus. We plan for numerous embellishments like more and newer sports facilities and in-school tourist attractions, to celebrate our association with Nature.  Nature Befriends Global Education is what one would experience the very moment that they walk into our sprawling green campus

Our school is known, not by its name, but by its landscape as “the beautiful green school“, where children labeled as GREEN WARRIORS are responsible to protect its greenery. Nature definitely befriends global education at GIIS Bannerghatta SMART campus.
