"In nothing do men more nearly approach the gods than in giving health to men."
— Marcus Tullius Cicero
The role of doctors and healthcare workers in the past two years have been unquestioningly of great importance. While the whole world was shut in four walls and waiting for the coronavirus storm to pass, it was the healthcare community, battling and shielding us from the raging virus with unrivaled compassion and integrity. The selflessness and heroism shown by doctors in recent years made this National Doctors’ Day extremely special and GIIS Bannerghatta took it on its shoulder to commemorate the endless contributions of the healthcare community by making this day a memorable one for everyone.
GIIS Bannerghatta organized a free health check-up camp in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals on 2nd July 2022 and invited students and parents to visit its SMART campus to take part in this camp. During this event, we invited senior MD doctors from Apollo Hospital who offered services like consultation, BMI, BP, RBS & body vitals tests free of charge to parents and our staff members.
The event started with our principal ma’am addressing the hon’ble guest doctors and gifting them a token of appreciation for dedicating their invaluable time to this initiative. Later on, we witnessed a good number of participation from the parents and school staff and were happy to see them excited and conscious about their health. The doctors indulged in thorough checkups and provided detailed advice & consultations that made everyone aware of their health. Lastly, our principal ma’am- Dr. Sharmila Mallick Chodhuri thanked all the participants and doctors for their enthusiastic engagement and concluded the event with her warm appreciative words.
This National Doctors’ Day at GIIS Bannerghatta was definitely a remarkable celebration and we extend our deepest gratitude to Apollo Hospitals for granting us this golden opportunity. GIIS Bannerghatta urges everyone to make routine health checkups a practice in order to stay healthy and fit.
