Dear Parent,

Greetings of the day! 

On behalf of all teachers and staff members, I would like to extend my warm welcome to all our students back to the school. I am sure students had a wonderful time during their vacation. Meanwhile, students across all sections were very enthusiastic to commence the academic session after a month-long summer break.

Teachers' Orientation

A week before the opening of school, GIIS Ahmedabad organized an intensive Teachers’ Orientation Programme for the teachers to orient them about the 9 GEMS framework, GIIS culture, mission, vision, core values, and code of conduct, and the best teaching-learning processes, among others. 

Fathers’ Day Celebration

Since the classes began on 13th June 2022 with full zeal, the month of June saw a lot of celebrations. The second week of June witnessed the creativity of the students of GMP, Grades 1 and 2 as they celebrated 'Fathers’ Day' based on the theme ‘Celebrating Father Figure’. Fathers’ Day was organized to pay tribute to the loving fathers for their untiring efforts, countless sacrifices, and priceless contribution to their families. The students of Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2 were asked to dress up according to their father’s profession.

The tiny tots were prepared to participate in a Speak-Up activity, wherein they had to speak 5-7 sentences on the topic - My favorite memory with my Dad. They were asked to bring one passport-size photograph of their fathers and decorate it. On Fathers’ Day - 19th June 2022 - the children went out on a cycling ride with their fathers. It was overwhelming to see the beautiful pictures and videos shared by parents to the teachers.

International Yoga Day 

Fathers' Day was then followed by International Yoga Day 2022 on 21st June. GIIS Ahmedabad took the initiative to bring parents and students together after two years to celebrate International Yoga Day based on the theme - Yoga for Humanity. The event started with a Yoga session with parents and students of Grades 9 to 12 performing various asanas under the guidance of the GIIS sports team on the school grounds. The prime focus of this Yoga Day celebration was GIIS Ahmedabad students performing asanas to form the number ‘75’ to represent the ‘75th Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

The students of morning and evening shifts also participated in Yoga sessions. The morning Yoga session was conducted by Ms. Dolly Gohel, an International Yoga Expert, while the afternoon Yoga session was led by Mr. Jagdish Nagavadiya, a certified yoga trainer and fitness expert. 

World Environment Day

In order to sensitize the students and spread awareness about living in harmony with nature, GIIS Ahmedabad lined up interesting events on World Environment Day under the Green Initiative Programme to contribute our bit towards environment conservation. This year, the day was commemorated on the theme based on the campaign slogan - ‘Only One Earth’ with the focus on ‘Living Sustainability in Harmony with Nature. The students and their family members enthusiastically participated in the events - Nature’s Album and Digital Volunteer to go back to their roots.

Leadership Lecture Series: Personality Development

An interesting session on ‘Building Career Stress-Free’ was organized by GIIS Ahmedabad for Grads 9 to 12 as a part of LLS covering one of the 9 GEMS - Personality Development. The guest speaker Mr. Nirav Shah, a noted philanthropist, and life coach guided the students and provided them tips on how to build their careers without any stress.

GIIS Ahmedabad nurtures its students by inculcating the qualities of creativity, vision, passion, dedication, and adaptability to lead them towards a fruitful life in all aspects.
