Janmashtami Celebration: GIIS Ahmedabad students worshiped Lord Krishna

“May all the paths lead home and all your worries be taken care of by Lord Krishna.”

With a belief that Lord Krishna will solve all the problems, the students of Global Indian International School (GIIS), Ahmedabad celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with great enthusiasm and fervor.  On this festival, we celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu.

The celebration of the day began with a prayer by the Head-Mistress Ms. Ruchika Dhingra and teachers of the pre-primary section. The Principal of GIIS Ahmedabad worshiped Lord Krishna and prayed for a healthy and happy life for students and staff members.

Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated at GIIS Ahmedabad with great enthusiasm and pomp by the tiny tots of GMP. The cute little ones added a traditional touch to the celebrations with their Radha and Krishna attire. Teachers of the pre-primary section narrated childhood stories of Lord Krishna through their dance performances. Celebrations with the little kids were concluded by the “Dahi Handi” tradition.

Students of Grade 1 and 2 celebrated the Janmashtami festival with dance and music. The teachers also narrated the stories of little Krishna consuming butter to encourage students to ingest milk products. Grade 3 to 5 students conducted various activities while learning the life lessons taught by Lord Krishna. Students of Grade 3 brought a cutout of Matki and decorated it with beautiful materials. Grade 4 students made Lord Krishna’s idol and a miniature cradle using clay.

Grade 5 students made eye-catching rangolis with flowers and colors. A skit was presented by 5A students that portrayed the friendship bond between Krishna and his childhood friend Sudama.

On this occasion, the Principal, Mr. Caesar D’silva said, “Lord Krishna is the best teacher in the world. The teachers at GIIS Ahmedabad try to learn a lot from Lord Krishna. Janmashtami is celebrated to enjoy the birth of Krishna and I wish the Almighty that He showers his blessings and love on each one of us."
