9th Annual Day of GIIS Ahmedabad was all about understanding the value of trees for our existence

The Global Indian International School (GIIS), Ahmedabad organized its 9th Annual Day 2022 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Global Schools Foundation (GSF). The theme for the Annual function was ‘Wisdom Tree - The Eternal Journey’. The parents were really excited to see their child perform on stage after a gap of two years i.e. post the pandemic.

The eternal journey is a story of a 100-year-old tree from France that was later brought to India, during the pre-Independence. The tree narrates his journey in India from the independence movement to the COVID-19 crisis. The Bollywood-style story was full of drama, emotions, dance, and music.

The parents and guardians were cordially invited to enjoy their child’s Annual Day performance. The welcome dance performance, French, as well as Portugal performances by little kindergarteners, were loved by one and all. GIIS Ahmedabad’s middle school students filled the atmosphere with enthusiasm with their patriotic performances. The students portrayed national heroes such as Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Rani Laxmi Bai, and Mahatma Gandhi. The power-packed performances of the students depicted the life and sacrifices of Indian soldiers. It was a moment of patriotism and pride for the parents sitting in the audience.

Tiny tots of Nursery, K1, and K2 walked the ramp portraying eminent Indian personalities like Narendra Modi, Neeraj Chopra, Sudha Murthy, PV Sindhu, Sania Mirza, Sundar Pichai, and Rishi Sunak among others. The parents in the audience were awestruck and spellbound by the little kids reciting famous quotes from their respective personalities.

As the program progressed, with a message to bring a change in the environment, the students of Grades 6 to 8 students presented an energetic Tandav performance that showcased the anger of Mother Nature.

Mr. Caesar D’silva, the Principal presented the Annual Report 2022-2023 that mentioned the achievements and glories achieved during the year gone by and at the same time set the path for greater opportunities in the upcoming year. The annual report also included academic and sports achievements, details about the marquee events, major functions, and activities held in the 2022-23 academic year.

In his speech, while addressing the audience, Mr. Caesar D’silva said, “This is the most awaited event of the year when parents are eager to see their ward on stage after the span of two years due to COVID. Our students are doing really well and you can witness the same. They are the real gems of GIIS Ahmedabad which bring laurels to the school and make us all proud. GIIS Ahmedabad always strives to deliver the best quality to the students to prepare them for a better future. Hope you all are enjoying the 9th Annual Day celebration with full enthusiasm.”

He also appreciated the hard work done by all the teachers for making this event a big success.  He said, "Kudos to the headmistress - Ms, Ruchika Dhingra, and her team who worked tirelessly to make this event successful.”

Parabadha’s parents shared their experience, “9th Annual function at GIIS was amazing, original, innovative, thoughtful, and entertaining because of the passion put in by you teachers. Hats off to the teachers and students for putting in their best efforts and bringing in the best performance in students. Thank you so much. It was delightful!”

The parents of Ruhi Kothiya wrote to us sharing, “It was an amazing evening which we spent with you all. GIIS is putting lots of effort to shape a child not only in academics but also in overall development. Providing stage to all the students is not an easy task but your passion and involvement made it happen.”
