The GIIS Open Badminton Tournament 2023 was conducted on March 18, 2023, at the Global Indian International School (GIIS) in Tokyo.

The tournament witnessed a total of 106 registrations, including 56 student participants and 50 senior players. 

The exciting and successful event was conducted with excellent parent engagement. The tournament had five categories, including a Junior category under 10, an under 13 category, an under 18 category, and seniors above 18 categories. 

The Open Badminton tournament started at 9:00 AM and was inaugurated by Ms Madhu Khanna, Principal of GIIS Tokyo. It was organized, and all the participants displayed great sportsmanship throughout the event. The matches were competitive, and the players gave their best on the court. 

The event had five categories, wherein the winners and runners-up of each category were awarded trophies. All the participants were provided with participation certificates, as a token of appreciation for their efforts. 

Additionally, refreshments were provided to all participants except the seniors' category. The Junior, Under 13, and Under 18 participants were served healthy snacks and juices during the break between matches, which helped keep them energized throughout the day.  

The GIIS Open Badminton Tournament 2023 was a great platform for students and seniors to showcase their badminton skills and bond over their love for badminton.
