Chairman's Message about GIIS Tokyo Journey as GSF enters 20th Year

Dear Friends,

On the commencement of the GS 20 - Our Global Schools’ 20th year anniversary celebrations, we extend our warmest greetings and best wishes to the GIIS Tokyo campus family. We also thank each and every student, parent and teacher fraternity for supporting GIIS Nishikasai, GIIS Higashikasai & GIIS Seishincho Campus to reach this incredible milestone of success.

GIIS Tokyo is one of our fastest-growing campuses where faculty, staff, students and parents are fully tuned in to all that the school has to offer in terms of excellence in education. The GIIS Tokyo campus under the leadership of Ms Madhu Khanna and her highly accomplished team of academic supervisors, coordinators has carved a niche for itself as one of the top schools not only in Tokyo, but the Asian region as well.

Our GIIS Tokyo campus is a flag bearer of our core values, which stand not just for excellence in academics, but also in extracurricular activities. The GIIS Tokyo campuses have been a trailblazer in many aspects of the GSF family of schools, since its inception. The 3 campuses of GIIS Tokyo namely GIIS Nishikasai, GIIS Higashikasai & GIIS Seishincho campus have a giant reputation among our Japanese friends and the expats for being a place whe strong educational foundations are built. Such is the reach and benefit of our education framework through the three stores that the Japanese parents in Tokyo prefer our schools to give a great foundation to our children. This was further enhanced by the fact that GIIS Tokyo was ranked as the top-ranked School among 600 overseas CBSE schools. That's quite an achievement! And congratulations to all the faculty, students and parents for making this historic event possible. Furthermore, it's commendable that GIIS Tokyo is ranked ninth among 16000 schools by CBSE in the list of its top 10 CBSE schools within India, giving testimony to our stupendous educational quality. All this will be further strengthened as we march ahead.

The launch of the IB DP curriculum in 2020 is a feather in our cap. This has made the GIIS schools a centre of excellence in three different curricula including Cambridge, IB and CBSE. With a 100% pass results legacy in CBSE and the IGCSE exams and an outstanding school average of 94% in the 2020 CBSE exams this reputation will only climb to higher heights in the coming years. Our students have fared well in all walks of academics and extracurricular life. Students like Swarada Joshi are top ranked in the Science Olympiad and Arya Narayanswami got high distinction in the UNSW mathematics. There are many other exceptional students like Keerthana who stood first in the interschool Jhankaar competition as well as a Gold medal in the karate kata performance.

Each of our campuses in GIIS Tokyo have been hailed as future ready which provide maximum benefit and opportunities to the students of 23 nationalities.

The amount of support for the academic, emotional, social and individual needs is noteworthy, and often hailed for the benefit it provides, in the long run. We have ensured that GIIS Tokyo students get the 21st century education they deserve for skills based opportunities.

Data Analytics, which is creating a great buzz in every industry around the world is also at the heart of our Tokyo framework, providing the much needed insights and impetus, fostering success.

In recent times, our Tokyo campus has been recognized by MEXT Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports in science and technology, which is welcome news. This has given our GIIS Tokyo graduate cohorts a chance to study in the Japanese universities of their choice. Such recognition and inclusion by official channels in Japan is a testimony of the quality of education we provide, and the level of excellence our graduates bring in the real world.

This strong participation and engagement by our GIIS Tokyo parent community has been one of the key reasons for our students’ successes. Miss Madoka Sawada, Saori Yamauji, Yuko Kobayashi, and several other motivated parents have been instrumental in forging the strong parent partnership.

GIIS Tokyo is blessed to have Mr Kotaro Tamura as its chairman and as our advisory board member, under whose guidance GIIS Tokyo will expand to new shores within Japan. A few years back, our GIIS Tokyo campus got a mention in the New York Times, and a few of our GIIS Tokyo students have consistently done well in the Spell-o-well competitions held in the USA.

All these achievements by our Tokyo students are only strengthening the reputation of GSF schools as a great place for all round student development.

Many Tokyo parents have acknowledged this fact and expressed their satisfaction, and the way the school framework is helping their wards shape into global citizens. Safety criteria was also achieved by GIIS Tokyo, which is evident from certification for ISO 9001 and ISO 45,001. Today, as GIIS Tokyo students and teachers, commence this iconic year with their celebrations, let us all join, and give them a big round of virtual applause and wish them all the very best for the year long celebrations.

We also wish the students of GIIS Nishikasai, Higashikasai & Seishincho lots of love and best wishes from all of us at Global Schools Foundation.

Thank you and have a nice day.

- Atul Temurnikar, Chairman
