September Highlights: Creative Learning and Holistic Growth

Dear Parents,

Warm greetings from GIIS Bannerghatta Campus. September was a cheerful and rewarding month for our school community, filled with joyful celebrations, friendly competitions, and learning experiences that went well beyond the classroom.

One of the most memorable moments of the month was Global Little Star, a special day planned for our youngest learners. Children took part in hands-on activities across different academic areas, where they could explore, create, experiment, and learn by doing. The day was full of curiosity and fun, and it left our little stars with happy memories. Our pre-primary students also celebrated Green Day with creative crafts and cheerful activities that taught them to love nature and care for greenery.

In addition to these festivities, learners across various grade levels displayed their exceptional abilities during inter-house events. These included a vibrant Fancy Dress Competition on the theme "Save Our Planet," an engaging Story Writing session titled "Three Things, One Tale," and an interactive "Sell Me This" challenge. Through these creative pursuits, our students honed their expressive skills, public speaking abilities, and self-assurance.

Our students also shared their learning with the whole school through a variety of themed assemblies, presented with great enthusiasm. The topics included "Farm Animals" and the useful things they give us, "Good Manners" and "Kind Words," healthy eating and an active lifestyle, and learning with confidence. The campus also celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with vibrant cultural activities, followed by a heartfelt Teachers' Day programme in which students thanked their teachers with love and respect.

Learning also reached beyond our campus through the Global Student Exchange programme, which connected our students with peers from other schools. Our students took part in exchange sessions with GIIS Ahmedabad, GIIS Noida, GIIS Hadapsar, GIIS Charoli, GIIS Whitefield, and Vikaasa Heritage School, Madurai. The topics ranged from farm animals and parts of the body to pronouns, punctuation, Roman numerals, and the importance of saving water. Our Grade 5B students also explored how Fibonacci patterns appear in flowers, pine cones, and sunflowers, showing how Maths is all around us in nature.

I am delighted to share that these efforts were recognised this month, as our school was honoured with the Excellence Award in Inculcating Logical and Advanced Learning at the India K-12 Awards 2026 (IKA). I had the privilege of receiving this award on behalf of our entire school community, and it is a proud moment for all of us. The award reflects our commitment to nurturing curious, confident learners who think critically, ask questions, and apply what they learn in meaningful ways. I congratulate our students for their enthusiasm, our teachers for their dedication, and our parents for their constant support. This honour inspires us to keep raising the bar and to continue building a culture of learning that is logical, creative, and future-ready.

We also take pride in congratulating V Rithwik of Grade 7 on winning the chess competition. His achievement is a wonderful example of focus, patience, and strategic thinking.

The month also brought an important lesson on safety. Students of Grades 6 to 12 attended a Traffic and Road Safety Awareness Programme led by the Assistant Chief Traffic Warden and his team. They learnt about traffic rules, pedestrian safety, the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, and how to be responsible road users.

Overall, our campus remains committed to creating a caring environment where academics and all-round growth go hand in hand. We thank our parents for their constant trust and support in helping our children grow into confident and capable learners.

Warm regards,

Bindu Rajesh
Principal, GIIS Bannerghatta Campus
