Global Indian International School (GIIS), Ahmedabad celebrated its 6th Investiture ceremony in the campus with a lot of enthusiasm and happiness. Mr. Gurdial Singh Khaira - ex Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gujrat graced the ceremony as Chief Guest. The ceremony started with lighting of the lamp by the esteemed chief guest and Principal, GIIS Ahmedabad.

Mr. Gurdial Singh Khaira is a retired DSP who has served in Gujarat police for 30 years. He was entrusted with many duties like handling the detective staff at Ahmedabad, as a LCB officer in Jamnagar, as liaising officer with PM, Mr. Narendra Modi, then CM of Gujarat and other cabinet ministers. At present, he is training the newly recruited police officers as a Law Professor at the Gujarat training school, Baroda.

A group of students welcomed the esteemed guests, dignitaries and the parents with their song - “Hall of Fame” followed by an energetic dance performance. The house captains and vice captains of all the four houses marched into the Multi-purpose hall where they were conferred with sashes, badges, house flags and banners. Sports Captain and Vice-Captain were felicitated next. The ceremony moved ahead as the previous year’s Head Boy and Girl handed over the school flag to the newly elected masters of the council i.e. the Head Boy and Head Girl for the 2019-20 academic session.

Teachers for all the four houses were also appointed as house badges for their respective houses was given by the Principal and esteemed Chief Guest.

Then came the most awaited moment of the day i.e. the Oath Taking Ceremony. Our Principal sworn in the newly formed cabinet and declared the House Meet Open for the year 2019-20. After the oath taking ceremony, an Awards Ceremony was conducted to felicitate meritorious students of the school for achieving accolades and success in various genres.

The SOF (Science Olympiad Foundation) awards were given away to the deserving candidates. Mann Shah who won the first international award for the NSO was felicitated on this joyous occasion for making the school proud. He won a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 along with a medal and a certificate. Ms. Pallavi Kulshreshta was also felicitated for achieving the best coordinator award by SOF in the whole district. It was indeed a proud moment for GIIS Ahmedabad.

Our first batch of grade 10 students were also invited. The star performers who had secured first three positions were given trophies for their remarkable performance in the CBSE Examinations held in March, 2019. The students who had secured highest marks in various subjects were also recognized.

Mr. Caeser D'silva - Principal, GIIS Ahmedabad in his inspiring speech, empowered the new leaders to take charge. He also appreciated the efforts of the management, teachers, parents and the students who have always worked in collaboration for smooth functioning of the school.

Mr. Khaira addressed the audience with his motivational words and appreciated the efforts school is putting in the world of education. He asked students to enjoy life and feel the fragrance of Nature and be close to roots to lead a wonderful life.

The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem.
