An Impressive Graduation Day ceremony of K2 students held virtually

To celebrate the important milestone of the Kindergarten children as they get ready to take their first steps into the Primary School and provide them a platform to display the skills learnt through the year, GIIS Ahmedabad organized a spectacular ‘Virtual Graduation cum Annual Day’ Programme for its K2 children.

The much-awaited event also marked a new beginning for the school life of the little ones and an exciting journey ahead, full of new possibilities and learnings.

The event was graced by Mr.  Rajiv Bansal (Country Director GIIS India), Ms. Vaishali Borde (Head Co-Scholastics, GIIS India), and Ms. Sunita Jai Singh (National Head Academics), to bless and motivate the tiny tots.

The event that coincided with ‘International Happiness Day was based on the theme ‘Count the Blessings of Life for Your Happiness’. The programme began with the lamp lighting followed by a melodious Family Anthem depicting GIIS as one big family. Thereafter, the mysteries of Nature were unravelled to the spectators through a fascinating Act on ‘Elements of Nature’. All the five elements were presented in their crowning glory with the use of aesthetically designed props and flamboyant costumes by the students. The message, that it is the intricate balance of the five elements – Earth, Air, Water, Fire, and Space that sustains life, was beautifully portrayed.

The next presentation-‘Family Love, My Greatest Pleasure’ had the daughters swirling gracefully with their fathers on the popular number - Tum Ko Paayaa, mothers partnering for a dance duet with their sons on the heart touching song - Tu Jo Mila, grandparents shaking their legs with the grandchildren on the soulful song - Meri Duniya and the duo-brothers and sisters celebrating their unbreakable bond through the lovely song - Phoolon Ka.

The entire presentation captivated everyone in the attendees.

The little magicians of K2 enthralled the spectators with innocent tricks from their magic boxes making everyone realize the importance of ‘Being open to Change and the Surprises’ that Life may bring to us.

The classroom scenes that followed had the students winning hearts with their inimitable acting skills. The scientific temperament of the young ones was evident as they displayed how quick they are to adapt to change.

While we are slowly moving over to Zumba or the Western concept of a Healthy Diet, we cannot ignore our roots and the Health benefits as advocated through Yoga and our age-old Science of Ayurveda. This is the idea that was conveyed by the children in the next item-‘Roots to Wings.’

The captivating patriotic speeches of the children, showcasing the uniqueness of different states of India, held the spectators in rapt attention. The segment was aptly titled “Let Freedom Ring’. Indeed a true example of unity in diversity.

The children were seen brimming with happiness as they expressed their gratitude to their family members and teachers for playing an instrumental role in shaping their personalities. The young ones grooving to the peppy number ‘I am so Happy’ promptly set the tone and mood of the atmosphere to an all-time high. Their highly co-ordinated dance steps and energetic performances enticed the spectators to sway to the dance beats along with them.

Then came the highlight of the celebration i.e. the Convocation of the students. It was a sheer delight to look at the smiling faces of the children donning their graduation caps as they received their certificates of graduation.

Mr. Caesar D’silva, Principal, said, “It is a proud moment for all us at GIIS Ahmedabad to see our tiny little Champs ready to embark on their new journey into the Primary School. We are extremely privileged to have tremendous support from our parents’ community. It is the synergy of the parents and teachers that make GIIS Ahmedabad, the ideal place where children realize their true potential and grow into well-rounded personalities!”

Ms. Gayatri Moras, Vice Principal, conveyed her best wishes to the children. The programme concluded with a note of gratitude from the Headmistress Ms. Ruchika Dhingra.

The beams of laughter, the tears of happiness, loads of appreciation, and sense of pride that pervaded the event, warmed the cockles of each heart.
