Dear Parent,

 The month of December marked the end of yet another action-packed year at GIIS Ahmedabad. As we draw the curtain over the year 2021, we carry with us a sense of accomplishment and hope in our hearts for a promising new beginning in the coming year.

It makes us immensely happy to share that our students have brought laurels in the sports arena with top spots in State Level Basketball Tournament, SRAG-STGA State Ranking Tennis Tournament, Tennis Championship organized by the All India Tennis Association, and FIDE Rated Chess Tournament.

Sports continued to be the highlight of the month! An array of exciting events and challenges were the attractions of the GMP Virtual Sports Fest- Funathon 2021 and the GIIS Global Champions League 2021 held for our tiny tots of Grades 1 and 2.

GIIS Ahmedabad students also won prizes in National Level Coding Competitions -Codingal and Code2win. Awards in 16 events at RWCC organized by GIIS Smart Campus, Singapore, and 5 events at ‘Al Tasamuh’ hosted by GIIS Abu Dhabi are additions to the success stories of our students. Our hearts swell with pride for our young achievers.

Furthermore, GIIS Ahmedabad students secured the Second Runner Up and First Runner Up Positions respectively in the Inter GIIS Ramanujan Quiz (India Campuses) – Junior and Senior Categories. Maths was indeed the flavor of the month as tribute was paid to the mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan with the celebration of ‘Ramanujan Week’ during which various activities related to the subject were punctiliously planned for the students of Grades 3 to 9 at school.

Awards and recognition poured in for the GIIS Ahmedabad staff too. 24 staff members of GIIS Ahmedabad were honoured in various categories during the Global School Awards 2021.

It was celebrations galore as GIIS Ahmedabad organized a Christmas bash for the students and staff with a string of activities replete with drama, dance, music, carols, Xmas treats, and loads of fun! In the true spirit of the festival, the students and staff donated gifts and food packets to the less privileged children of the NGO-Helping Hands as part of the SDG activity- Super Santa and spent quality time with them.

GIIS Ahmedabad believes that the seeds for becoming responsible citizens should be sown right from the formative years. In this context, 'Good Citizenship Week' on the theme 'A Better Me' was organized for the students of GMP to Grade 2.

Under our University Connect initiative, delegates from the Ohio University, University of Delaware, and The University of Tennessee Knoxville visited the Campus for a session with the students of Grades 10, 11, and 12 in a fair-style format.

“Thinking is the Capital, Enterprise is the Way, Hardwork is the Solution!” These words of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam from his book ‘Ignited Minds’, guide us as we surge ahead in the New Year 2022. We reiterate our commitment to providing the best learning experience to our students.
