Chrysanthemum wins Best House at Tokyo sports day

Chrysanthemum House took maximum honours at the annual sports day event for GIIS Tokyo which was held at Shinden Elementary School in June 2018. 

The House won the Best House trophy and shared the Best March past trophy with Orchid House, at the sports day where students from Kindergarten, Grades 1-3, and Grades 4-11 participated with enthusiasm, cheered on by their parents and peers. 

Mr Takayuki Honda, Deputy Manager at Metropolitan Police Department was the Guest of Honour for the Grades 1-3 event. while Mr Koji Ueda, Division Head of Asahi Shougaku-sei Shimbun, was the Guest of Honour for the final event held for Grades 4-11. Parent Gaurav Bhat was the Guest of Honour for the Kindergarten section.

The Grade 4-11 event commenced as all the four houses: Chrysanthemum, Hibiscus, Orchid and Sunflower participated in the march past. Mr Ueda declared the event open. The school Principal, Ms. Rajeswary Sambathrajan, conveyed her best wishes to the students taking part in the races.

Parents were thrilled to see their young ones taking part in the various sports competitions. The Guests of Honor thanked the spectators and commented that they immensely enjoyed the event and awarded medals and trophies to all the winners. Bibek Thap from Class 9, delivered the vote of thanks including Ms. Monica Joel, Ms. Rashmi Chikodi, Ms. Mika Itako and Ms. Yasmeen Jahir for seamlessly coordinating the event.

Chrysanthemum House

1st runner-up - Orchid House

Best March Past Trophy:

Orchid & Chrysanthemum  House

1st runner-up - Sunflower House
