GIIS Hadapsar Shines at ‘Band It’ Competition with Multiple Wins and Standout Performances

The recently concluded ‘Band It’ competition at GIIS Hadapsar turned into a celebration of rhythm, artistry, and youthful talent, drawing over 200 participants from leading schools across Pune. The event showcased an exciting mix of band performances, solo singing, speech and drama, solo dances, and high-energy group dance presentations, creating an atmosphere filled with creativity and spirited competition.

Students of GIIS Hadapsar delivered an extraordinary performance across categories, earning admiration from judges and peers alike. Their dedication, guided by the efforts of their teachers, translated into remarkable wins.

One of the major highlights of the event was Nritya Sangamita—a classical dance group from the Secondary section—whose powerful Mahabharata-themed performance earned them qualification for the Zonal round. The judges were so impressed that they awarded the group a special appreciation and a direct entry into the Grand Finale.

Adding to the school’s glory, Grade 8 student Preksha Sharma’s graceful Bharatanatyam solo also secured a spot in the Finale, which will be held in Mumbai. Meanwhile, the school’s Folk Factory dance troupe, the School Choir Group, and a Kathak solo by Shruti Gaikwad advanced to the Semi-Finals.

In the music category, Grade 5 student Owee Dehedrai clinched second place in Solo Singing, while Diya Buddh of Grade 9 secured the second prize in Instrumental. The School Music Band and Choir Group also performed exceptionally, winning third place with their harmonious and well-coordinated musical ensemble.

Although The Vibe Tribe and Fusion Symphony could not make it to the Semi-Finals, their performances were applauded for their energy, creativity, and teamwork.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from renowned schools including Clara Global School, Vibgyor International, Mentor International School, and SNBP International (Rahatani), contributing to a truly competitive yet collaborative environment. The audience remained captivated throughout, applauding the skills, passion, and stage presence of every young artist.

More than just a contest, ‘Band It’ emerged as a memorable learning experience—one that encouraged students to express themselves boldly, work as a team, and perform with heart and harmony.
