GIIS Hadapsar triumphs at RWCC,2022

Global Indian International Schools across geographies once again have come together to celebrate the new age innovation, thoughts, and talents with Real World Conventional Challenges, 2022 which was hosted by GIIS SMART Campus Singapore. This year marks the 11th consecutive year for RWCC and the theme for this year was GAIA i.e.Green And Innovative Alternatives for Earth. This was in sync with one of the many United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

 

RWCC is an inter-GIIS competition that encourages students to come together from different all geographics and nationalities to take a step forward for Mother Nature. They come up with creative and out-of-the-box solutions. RWCC gives students an international opportunity to gel well with their team members and mentors.

 

Students from GIIS Hadapsar have participated and brought laurels back home as they with much pride secured positions in the following categories:

 

  • AdzAPP: An advertising strategy contest organized for the secondary school level students. Students were given different topics on sustainability and they were to create and produce an advertisement advocating the same. In total 15 videos were selected, and GIIS Hadapsar bagged the second position. Their topic was Responsible Consumption and Production. The participating team members were Ishika Arya, Ruchira Pachpute, and Ishika Dabade.

 

  • Li’l Mavericks: Here in again, Students were given different topics and they were to perform a skit on the same. GIIS Hadapsar tiny tots, Shivangi Mishra, Aryaman Gupta, Owee Dehadrai, Kavya Thakur, and Abha Ghuli performed on the topic of Good Health & Well Being. The students scored first runner-up in the competition and made us all proud!

 

  • Quality Circle Presentation: For the upper primary category, the topic was ‘Let’s Go H2O; To facilitate the management of sustainable water usage in the campus’. Ayushmaan Sharma, Abhishree Gawade, Virein Singh Likhari, Saashi Jain, and Saloni Buradkar as a team scored first runner-up. For the middle school category on the topic ‘Quality Education, Quest for Excellence’ Radhika Yadav, Janhavi Khalate, Chandni Bhatia, Megh Dhawan, and Suraj Praveen together as a team secured the third position. 

 

  • An OPUS for GAIA: In the category for mid-school, Agriya Thapa, Ishika Arya, Ananya Bhuyan, Siya Ranade, and Suhana Parija scored second runner-up and presented their piece on the topic ‘Peace, justice and strong institutions

 

  • Student Conference Category: on the topic ‘Building resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation’ Megh Dhawan and Chandni Bhatia stood third for the Best Team and Jigya Borthakur secured a third position as well for the Best Speaker. 


 

This year the competition welcomed participation from students of GIIS India (Noida, Ahmedabad, Balewadi, Bannerghatta, Whitefield, and Hadapsar), GIIS Abu Dhabi, Dubai, KL, SMART Campus, Japan, One World International School, Regent Klang, Regent Kedah, Dwight Korea, and NPS International School. It even received entries from parents, teachers, and academic leaders from each campus.

 

To say the least, the results are the epitome of high spirits and endeavors that made our students achieve such milestones! We extend our hearty congratulations to one and all to be a part of GIIS Balewadi and make us proud and shine.
