Students of GIIS SMART Campus primary and secondary divisions celebrated Teachers’ Day 2022 with enthusiasm, showing gratitude to teachers for sailing them through difficult times during the pandemic and ensuring that they did well. 

Centred around the ‘Heartfelt Gratitude’ theme, the secondary event was ideated by the 20-member Student Council and 50 student performers in the presence of more than 100 teachers from the Secondary Campus. The students put on a great show with a band performance, songs, dances, a quiz, and a flash mob. 

The students coordinated and planned the event for two weeks in advance, making personalised cards with calligraphy, student signatures, and at least one quote that represented what teachers have done for them. The teachers were presented with cards at the start of the event. The students also made a humorous video dedicated to the teachers in which they presented day-to-day challenges the teachers have to put up with. This segment was meant to be a light-hearted way to thank the teachers for never giving up on their students and being infinitely patient.

The ‘Would you rather’ quiz gave teachers a chance to share more about themselves. The light-hearted questions and witty answers provided the right source of entertainment to the teachers, giving them the perfect opportunity to let loose and have fun.

The students from the primary division too exhibited a great display of love and gratitude towards their teachers by presenting a special assembly prepared for them. The students showcased their creativity and talent by performing a skit, and a dance performance. 

The primary student council members came dressed up as their teachers bringing smiles to their faces. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter as the teachers showed great enthusiasm in participating in games such as antakshari, musical chairs, and memory games. A few parents visited the school as well, to express their gratitude towards the teachers by volunteering to take classes for an hour. 

At the end of the celebration, the students presented beautifully designed thank you cards to their teachers making the day everyone will reminisce about in the years to come.    

Overall it was a memorable event for all the teachers and the students at the campus. The dedication and efforts put in by the students in planning and executing each of the activities clearly highlight the extent to which the students are grateful for how the teachers guide them in their learning journey and help them grow as well-rounded individuals.
