Greetings! 

We are well ahead of the new academic year! The students and their classes are progressing in a steady rhythm. The CCA and ECA classes have resumed and are keeping the students busy. 

To keep the classroom studies interesting, our teachers constantly plan activities for students beyond the classroom while serving a dual purpose. The students learn new topics and at the same time have fun learning them. The month of April saw the students celebrating Earth Day and International book day.

Earth day is an essential part of our school year as it is not just celebrated on one day but throughout the year. We continuously inculcate the importance of the conservation of nature amongst our students throughout the year. Through various activities such as best from waste, talks about Earth day, making informative posters, knowledge sharing with peers and planting drives, we convey the message of conservation.

The International Book Day is another significant event that emphasises the importance of reading for pleasure. DEAR - Drop everything and read, Classroom reading and reading activities in the library such as scavenger hunt, genre reading, research, enacting stories are some of the few activities which were organised by our teachers and students to emphasise the importance of books.

I believe that these extra-curricular activities keep the classroom studies relevant and engaging. They promote team-building, encourage students to be confident and learn new skills and above all ignite passion for learning. 

We, at GIIS, strongly believe that academic excellence is achieved only through the holistic development of a child and always strive to achieve the same.
