Primary students showcase their linguistic prowess in multiple competitions

GIIS SMART Campus Primary students have achieved remarkable feats in various Tamil competitions, demonstrating the benefits of learning a second language. Learning a second language can improve cognitive skills, self-confidence in social settings, and understanding of diverse viewpoints. Throughout the academic year, primary students have participated in various competitions and acquired skills that have helped them excel. 

 

Nithish Sathyan Maheswaran, a Class 5 student, recently participated in the 43rd Thirumurai Maanadu conference and won the first prize, showcasing his confidence in the language. Other students who have demonstrated their skills include Nithila Kanipandiarajan from Class 5 who won the Kappiya song singing competition organised by Kavimalai. In addition, Class 3 students; Shrimughai Pattu Santhakumar, Achuthan Sree Krishnan Sriram, and Aeldiah Sujitha Jijoe Alphonse - won the second, third, and motivation prizes respectively in the Thamizhmozhi Vizha Speech competition organised by the Singapore Tamizhar Eyakkam.

 

Students from Class 2 also displayed their talent in Tamil competitions. Visakan Krishnaraja Kavitha and Achuthan Sree Krishnan Sriram won the motivation prize in the Tamil Language and Cultural Society Thirukkural Vizha competition, while Hridhiya Murugaiyan and Jacy Tia Amala Jone won the motivation prize in the Tamizh Mozhi Vizha Storytelling Competition. 

 

Achievements like these demonstrate the students’ proficiency in second languages at the same time exemplify how the school encourages students to explore their talent and hone their skills helping in their holistic growth.
