Gnanmunidas Swamiji tells students to lead a life full of values

Head of Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi, Gnanmunidas Swamiji, addressed students on moral values and peace during his visit to the GIIS SMART Campus for the Leadership Lecture Series, held in April 2019.

During his motivational talk, Swamiji conveyed to the students to have long-term visions in life. He insisted that everyone should lead a life full of values and indulge in spiritual deeds so that when they look back at life, it should seem fruitful and meaningful.

He explained how professionals from across the world have been inspired to volunteer and contribute to the cause of making the spiritual centre of Akshardham. In his address to the students, he also mentioned about the great leader Dr Abdul Kalam Azad, and how he was influenced by the priest of Akshardham to regard a strong value system the most important aspect of a country’s development.

After Swamiji delivered his speech, students from the audience asked him questions related to his life and teachings. On being asked why he gave up his career in MNC to choose the life of a saint, he responded that he is enjoying the joy of serving more than the material benefits that he received from his career in the corporate.

Swamiji motivated the students to use technology for social benefits rather than sheer pleasure. He vividly talked about how technology has been implemented in Akshardham to create spiritual experiences that inspire visitors to become better human beings.

Swamiji, who was born and brought up in USA, has a Masters in Management, Finance and Information Systems from the University of Texas. His career spanned stints in MNCs like IBM, Arthur Anderson and Mckinsey.
