GIIS students imbibe nation-building values participating in NS55 Art Challenge

Commemorating the 55 years of Singapore’s National Service and honouring the contributions of all who have served, Global Indian International School announced an Art Challenge in partnership with ACCORD (Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence). The challenge was exclusively open to students from Foreign System Schools and Privately Funded Institutions in Singapore, and saw participation from GIIS SMART Campus, GIIS East Coast Campus, Hwa Chong International School, and Yuvabharathi International School.

The participating students were asked to create an art piece depicting the theme 'Generations of Strength,' which reflects the contribution of Singapore's national servicemen across generations, both past and present. The artwork had to portray a scene of a march past commemorating an important event or celebrating a particular milestone in the journey of NS men.

The participating students from GIIS displayed their artistic skills and creativity through their stunning artworks. The beautiful pieces prepared by all the participating students were put together to create an acrylic display structure shaped in the form of a saluting soldier.

The artwork is currently displayed at the Central Manpower Base (CMPB), allowing parents and pre-enlistees to view the students' impressive work. This initiative aims to honor the contributions of national servicemen and instill nation-building values in students, helping them become responsible and strong citizens of the future.
