Dear Parents,

The excitement at SMART Campus continues and it makes me feel happy to share the numerous events and activities that were conducted for our students during the month of August.

The 2 sports events that gave immense joy to students and parents were the Annual Sports event for students which saw a participation of close to 800 students and the Father’s Super Six Cricket Tournament that saw not only fathers but entire families assemble to root for their respective teams. Both events displayed the energy that sports brings about in all of us.

In the performing arts arena, Jhankaar- dancing like the stars saw us bag a number of awards be it for individual or group performances and we were the Overall Champions among 10 schools who participated from Singapore.

In order to engage children in an academic programme an exchange with GIIS Bangalore and Noida was organised where students discussed physics and its application to real-life scenarios. We also had Major D P Singh who was the guest lecturer for the Leadership Lecture Series. With his motivational speech, he inspired children to never give up and emphasised the Mantra - ASK - where he said Attitude comes before knowledge and or skill acquisition. Having the right attitude makes all things right was the key message from this inspirational Kargil War Survivor and amputee who has carved a niche for himself and made India proud.

National Day of Singapore and Indian Independence Day were commemorated with students and staff dressed in the national colours for both days, and the hoisting of the Indian flag on campus on August 15 along with a presentation by our students at the Indian High Commission. 

Throughout the month we had a number of students’ projects being recognised and applauded externally, where they will represent the school at the national level in the finals for ICDL and for Infineon. We also have students that will participate in the Global Excellence Day Finals with their Quality Circle presentations. 

Amidst all this excitement, the icing on the cake was the IGCSE results: 61% Overall A* grades secured. 17.7 % of students secured Perfect Score (A* in all subjects they appeared in). 84% Overall A* and A grades secured. 100% of students secured ICE certificate. 100% of students passed the IGCSE exams. Kudos to our students, our hardworking faculty, and the support of our parents.

The month also saw us go through a gruelling ISO internal audit to ensure the wheels of the engine are always oiled and we sharpen our saw like aptly advocated by Stephen Covey, to ensure we provide the best to our students at all times.

September is the month of the Semester exams. On behalf of all at the campus, I wish our students all success on these exams. May each do better than he/she did earlier to become better versions of themselves.
