Teacher Exchange Programme; Delegates from Stockholm visit GIIS Noida

The need for inter-cultural learning and knowledge exchange led a team of delegates from Stockholm to visit GIIS Noida for a week long teacher exchange programme; to brainstorm and work on projects that can bring a big change to the world concerning issues.

Teachers from Sweden namely, Ms. Marie, Ms. Maria, Ms. Jenny, and Ms. Simonette visited with an aim of collaborating with our teachers on projects and issues that need immediate redressal and action. A week long training session was conducted between the teachers to figure out various themes that not only served the greater good but also help them add an extra dimension to classroom learning.

It was a pleasure for the entire Global Indian International School (GIIS) Noida team to play host for the delegates and take them through various assets of the city like Dilli Haat, Gandhi Museum, The Taj Mahal, etc., giving them a glimpse of our rich cultural heritage. They were also introduced to various dance forms our country proudly upholds i.e. Kathak, Rajasthani folk dance, and bhangra, and the ancient study of physical fitness “Yoga”. Special assemblies were conducted in the premises for our students to interact with the delegates and learn about their education system and culture.

GIIS Noida team got a wonderful opportunity of joining the Global Citizenship Project started by the Swedish council for higher education aimed towards establishing a community that’s global in nature and outlook. The exchange between GIIS Noida and the Stockholm team was a perfect example of learning beyond boundaries. The sole purpose of this exchange programme was to provide teachers with a platform to exchange their thoughts, ideas and views on ways classroom teaching can be improved.
