Annual Day is an important event that celebrates the beginning of a new year and bidding farewell to the previous academic year in the celebration of felicitation, feast, and festivity. GIIS Noida celebrated this wonderful event to showcase the extraordinary potential of its students of grades 1, 2, and 3 virtually by organizing a webinar for the parents, students, and teachers.
Mr. Dinesh Uprety, a renowned Emeritus Scientist graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the Annual Function named SANKALP. The theme for grades 1-3 was “Hero Lies in me”. The event began with the address of Mr. Ganesh Sharma - Principal, GIIS Noida, who in his speech extended a warm welcome to everyone present and shared the annual report of the 2020-21 academic session.
Ms. Sunita Jaisingh - National Academic Head and Ms.Vaishali Borde - National Co-Scholastic Head were also present as Guest of Honor to share their motivational ideas and best wishes for the students.
The acts were woven around the theme ‘corona warriors’. Students of grades 1, 2, and 3 being the anchors of the event welcomed and compered the whole event very efficiently. The event began with a lamp lighting ceremony followed by a mesmerizing presentation by the music club students. All the CCA clubs: Music, dance, Information technology, Yoga and Fitness, Cooking without fire, Dharohar, Art and Craft, Drawing, and painting exhibited their year-round work in a well-scripted presentation.
The act's enactment included information, spread, and prevention of infection from coronavirus. GIIS Corona warrior parents also shared their experience during the pandemic and gave tips to be safe from COVID-19. Parents also shared their positive and valuable feedback.
The two-hour-long Cultural Show held the audience in awe and left them enlightened as the show culminated. The journey of Corona Warriors, the journey of all of us in this tough time of COVID-19 was depicted through a blend of drama, dance, painting, and other art forms. The show was indeed an eye-opener for the audience.
Our pre-primary Headmistress Ms. Rachna Jain also shared her views followed by the conclusion of the event by a vote of thanks of the Primary Academic Coordinator- Ms. Tapasya Dixit.
This presentation, besides giving us an opportunity to imbibe good moral values, helped the children in developing innovative skills and creativity, confidence, and gain interest in cultural aspects. They also got a chance to exhibit various co-curricular skills developed during the academic session.
