Students from grade 3-5 of Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida organized a STEM exhibition in the school premises in September 2018, to depict their learning and understanding of the concepts learned in the current academic session. To encourage and inculcate scientific temper among students of the school, the exhibition served as a platform for young minds to depict implementation and advantages of using real life working models. Students presented work on various projects like LED working model (wooden house, beak and claws, organ systems, etc.), air pressure with balloon car/rocket, heat conduction with cloth, preservation of food, etc. and was highly appreciated by parents who came to witness the work done by our budding Einsteins. Along with the presentation of working models, display of Innovations tool kits and materials made by student i.e. working robots were also put on the exhibit. Students had organized a bird game i.e. a placard was shown to the parents and based on the picture displayed, few questions were asked to them, which each parent answered sportingly. Such display of innovation and creativity inculcates a sense of pride among the students as they get an opportunity to hone their scientific talents and work on the problem solving skills. These activities help them in understanding why certain phenomenon appear a certain way and how useful they can be in one’s daily routine. |
