Seasoned author encourages emotional and mental well-being for students

Author visits create a lasting impression on students. They build relationships between students and the written word, inspire them to pursue creative endeavours, and connect lessons learned in the classroom with the wider world. Bringing an author in to interact can changes their lives for good.

GIIS Noida’s middle segment organized an Author visit for grades 6-8 in association with Scholastic India. Ms Pragati Sureka visited the school to interact with students.  

Pragati Sureka is a seasoned Clinical Psychologist with 15 years in the field. She is the creator of 2 original concepts called “Emotional Ability Resources” and “Hope Curriculum”. Her guiding mantra is “Emotional well-being is possible for everyone. She believes in the concept of daily mental health care for good mental health.

Ms. Surekha is the author of 2 books- “Hope- Stories for a healthy mind“ published by Scholastic and Musings - An insight into me “. Her book “Hope” was on the best sellers list at Starmark and other bookstores. Through her international, national and local corporate training sessions and multiple online courses on Udemy and Master mentors, she has touched and motivated thousands of people. This year she was recognized by India Inspirational Women Awards 2021 for exceptional achievements in her field.

On account of her visit the students of grade 6-8 were encouraged to read her books. A badge making activity on the theme ‘Healthy Mind and Body’ was conducted in MPH for grades 6-8 students. All students enthusiastically participated in the activity.

 Ms Pragati Surekha interacted with all students and motivated them to take up the careers in language and literature. She also shared her experiences of being an author that has motivated the students to take up the careers in language and literature. She made few students to read the story from her book 'Hope Stories for a healthy mind' and explained the story to the students.

Students also gifted a few badges made by them on the theme - Healthy mind and Healthy body' to Ms Pragati Surekha. The Author visit was highly interactive and beneficial for all the students.
