Into the world of stars, galaxies and planets; 6th Annual Sports Meet for the pre-primary

NOIDA, 14 DECEMBER, 2018 - A bright sunny morning filled with anticipation and excitement marked the sixth annual sports meet for the pre-primary students of Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida. Gracing the day to encourage the youngest lot of the school to perform their best was Mr. Rajiv Bansal - Director Operations, GIIS India and Ms. Sunita Jaisingh - National Academic Head, GIIS India as chief guests for the day.

The sixth annual sports meet in the campus was a show of colour and absolute finesse as tiny little stars of the school were all ready to have some fun and participate in various fun activities and races organized for them on the day. The fun filled day began with declaring the meet open by releasing balloons high in the sky and welcoming of the parents by the school principal and guests of honour.

This year the annual sports day was themed around “Space and Universe” for the children to discover and articulate the mystery of space that contains many marvels of the universe for them to imagine, explore and conquer.

Beginning with the event, alien aerobics was presented by the KG students to promote a healthy and interesting way of exercising daily; children were dressed up as yellow aliens with theme based head gear and belts. Next was the Drill performance by nursery students that they enthusiastically performed on music with their black coloured outfits.

The races conducted for the students began with shooting star and meteorites race followed by hungry alien, planet race, ring the Saturn, lynx the constellation, moon walk, launch the rocket, alien on tour race, etc. Since this year’s theme was based on space and universe, each race was knitted around it and brought about a sense of understanding of our celestial world among the students.

Sports days always serve as platform to interact and bond with parents and give them a chance to be competitive in the sporting spirit of the day; some special races for the parents were organized which helped them to revisit their childhood for a short while. Happy smiling faces (of kids and the parents) all over the campus gave us a great sense of joy as the day progressed towards it closure. Prize distribution ceremony and national anthem marked the closure of this year’s annual meet.
