GIIS Teachers attend workshop on habits to achieve personal brilliance by the renowned author Andy Cope

Two teachers from the Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida attended a workshop organized for teachers by the Scholastic India group. The workshop was taken by world-renowned author and motivational teacher Andy Cope. ‘The Art of Being Brilliant’ provided an antidote to the crazy world that typifies modern living.

This workshop used cutting edge research to explore 'how you can be you'. Andy shared the secrets of Positive Psychology, focusing on learning new habits of thinking and behaviour that can help sustain personal ‘brilliance’.

GIIS HOD of English Dep’t. Mrs Mrignayni Magotra and Librarian Mrs Sarita Saini attended this workshop. The workshop talked about ways and methods of being positive and changing one’s perspective towards life, towards students and the workplace.

Mr Andy talked about the four-minute rule where each person practices positive thoughts and behaviour for the first four minutes of entering a class, entering school, entering home etc. The aim was to practice being positive for the first four minutes to build positive behaviour and energy around and within us.

He also emphasized on a 1:3 ratio rule. This rule makes you find one negative point in a person or an organisation and think about three positive points for the same. Andy gave many more useful strategies to become a new positive you.

It was a wonderful opportunity for teachers to learn more about the author’s life and writing. It will help teachers to motivate their colleagues towards positive thinking.
