GIIS Noida Hosts Maiden Edition of MUN 2025: A Celebration of Student Leadership and Diplomacy

“Leaders instil in their people a hope for success and a belief in themselves. Positive leaders empower people to accomplish their goals.” This spirit of leadership, teamwork, and purpose came alive at GIIS Noida MUN 2025, a student-led conference organised by 17 Secretariat members under the guidance of MUN Coordinator, Ms. Vaishali Singh.

The idea for the conference was seeded in May to fulfil the vision of Principal of GIIS Noida Mr. Ganesh Sharma, and the Secretariat worked with utmost dedication through multiple planning phases to bring the event to life. The team began by forming the Secretariat, with Sejal Sethi as Secretary General and Vanshika Chauhan as Deputy Secretary General, supported by directors, heads of departments, and organisers. Together, they meticulously planned every detail—from logo and brochure design to social media campaigns, registrations, budgeting, sponsorships, delegate kits, awards, and logistics. Through each phase, the Secretariat not only prepared for the event but also honed their leadership, creativity, and management skills, proving that student-led initiatives can achieve professional-level execution.

On 29th August 2025, the maiden edition of GIIS MUN was inaugurated in the presence of Principal Sir, Vice Principal, and Guest of Honour Akshat Sharma, an alumnus currently working as a Data Scientist at ION Trading. The opening ceremony, marked by lamp lighting, cultural performances, and inspiring addresses, set a motivating tone. The committees then went into action, engaging in heated debates and structured discussions during the first two sessions. The day concluded with an exciting “Socials” evening, where students relaxed, celebrated, and bonded over music and dance—making memories beyond formal proceedings.

On 30th August 2025, delegates returned with renewed enthusiasm for the remaining committee sessions. The discussions reflected their growing confidence, critical thinking, and diplomatic skills. The highlight of the day was the Closing Ceremony, graced by Mr. Manmeet Singh Gulati, Senior Supreme Court Lawyer. Outstanding delegates were awarded across categories—Verbal Mention, Special Mention, High Commendation, and Best Delegate—with medals, trophies, and cash prizes. The ceremony also honoured the efforts of the Executive Board, while mesmerising dance and music performances showcased the cultural spirit of GIIS. Alumni Ms. Samiksha Srivastava, now a fellow at CPRG, was also felicitated, adding another proud moment for the school community.

The event concluded with heartfelt gratitude from the Secretariat and MUN Coordinator, alongside a special behind-the-scenes video capturing the journey of GIIS MUN 2025. The maiden edition was more than a conference—it was a celebration of leadership, learning, and collaboration. Delegates sharpened their debating and analytical abilities, while the organising committee mastered planning, execution, and coordination. Above all, it instilled in every participant the essence of true leadership—guiding, inspiring, and working together towards a shared vision.
