Co-scholastic activities, across all the campuses, is a very important aspect of GIIS curriculum. We strongly believe that a balanced and integrated emphasis on scholastic and co-scholastic areas is essential for enriching and enhancing learning experiences of students. The core of 9 GEMS holistic model adopted by GIIS ensures that all the students get the best platform to showcase their talent beyond the classroom studies. These co-scholastic activities facilitate in the development of various domains of mind and personality such as intellectual development, emotional development, social development, moral development and aesthetic development. Creativity, Enthusiasm, and Positive thinking are some of the facets of personality development. Looking back into the previous Academic Session 2017-18, we wish to share the highlights of all Co-Scholastics activities across 5 campuses. Sportsmanship spirit GIIS campuses showed active participation in Sports all through the year in various, inter-school, zonal and state level completions. GIIS Noida has won many medals and certificates for swimming championship, Peace Fiesta, GIIS Chess Championship and Athletic Meet. GIIS Surat students have secured 1st and 2nd positions in Surat Taluka Level K.M.K Chess and U-19 Taluka Level K.M.K Volleyball Championship 2017-18. GIIS Bangalore displayed good performance in cricket tournaments. GIIS Indore received awards and certificates in Chess, Volleyball, Yoga and international Karate tournaments with first place in S.G.F.I Inter School Laghori Tournament and Gold medals in Karate. GIIS Ahmedabad received many accolades at the Khelmahakumbh and the participation was really encouraging among our students. Dance and musical interest Students of GIIS love Dance and Music with a passion to perfect in their performances at various competitions. GIIS Ahmedabad secured 2nd place in the inter-school folk dance competition and in music, the campus has won the 2nd prize at the Bharat Vikas Parishad and also at one of the inter-school competition. GIIS Bangalore students came 1st in the group dance inter-school competition and 1st in Umang. Champs at LEAPS in India and RWCC in Singapore At GIIS LEAPS, GIIS Ahmedabad won 1st place in Jhankaar, EdTalk, Startup, Oodles of Doodles and Design Challenge. The GIIS Noida team were the 1st Runner up in Quiz Up, 1st runner up in Junkyard and 1st Runner Up in Oodles of Doodles. GIIS Bangalore also won prizes in Ed Talk, Junkyard, GIIS Beams and Words matter. GIIS Surat team were 1st Runner up in Start-up, Quiz Up and 2nd runner up in Junkyard. RWCC Singapore was a great experience for GIIS India campuses. The teams have bagged many prizes from respective campuses in categories such as Quality Circle, Adzapp, Essay Writing and Movie-making. GIIS India team gave an exemplary performance and posed a good competition to other international GIIS campuses. Co-Scholastic Achievements in Diverse Segments GIIS Ahmedabad students have bagged the 1st prize in INTACH for Best narration and Best cinematography. Class 2 students Ayan Chatiyar and Sama Kumar scored 100/100 and bagged the position as Interschool Toppers in Spell Bee Level 1. The students have done well in Olympiads and Gandhi Vichar Pariksha. GIIS Noida has been awarded for best new idea and best documentary by Filmit and Best Short Film by Siffcy Festival 2017. They stood 1st and 2nd in Symphony of Rhythm, secured 2nd position is Turncoat and Extempore at Peace Fiesta 2017. GIIS Bangalore students have secured good ranks at the SBI Kidovator Challenge and the campus has received 14 awards for the Karo Sambhav programme, Karnataka Chapter. GIIS Indore got the prize for best content and knowledge at Sahodaya Senior Bal Vigyan. MUN Intellects At GIIS Model United Nations (MUN) held at Chinchwad, students from GIIS Bangalore - Sanjit Suresh received High Commendation, Shobhit Gupta and Aadithya Suresh got Verbal mention. At OakMUN in Bangalore, Neha S D was conferred the Outstanding Delegate title. From GIIS Noida, Akshat Sharma and Ronit bagged the first timer award in Security Council and Raw Committee at SGMUN CONCLAVE. From GIIS Ahmedabad, Tanish Patel got Special Mention Award at IIMUN at Baroda and HLCCMUN. It has been a very eventful year with students winning a lot of awards and certificates in various areas such as sports, music, inter-school activities, National and even International activities. The hard work of our energetic teachers, coaches and of course the commitment of the students to training and staying active has resulted in a wonderful year. At GIIS, we take pride in the achievements of our students and wish them all the best to do their best always!
