GIIS family pays Homage to honourable Justice C S Dharmadhikari (Co-founder, Former President and Patron of Global Schools foundation)

It is with great sadness that we announce the demise of honoured judge, eminent activist, luminary author, Co-Founder of Global Schools Foundation, and our great mentor, Dr Justice Chandrashekhar Shankar Dharmadhikari. From his role as a freedom fighter under Gandhiji to his pivotal rulings that changed the course of the nation, Justice Dharmadhikari will be fondly remembered and emulated for his exemplary wisdom and values.

Fondly known as Justice Ji, he breathed his last on 3rd January, 2019. As per the highest protocol in India, a 21 gun salute salami was given by Maharashtra police, at his final rites held in Nagpur later during the day. This was attended by various members of judiciary including many honourable judges, members of the Gandhi organisations including Sevashram, members of public and close friends and family members.

A stalwart Gandhian who was awarded Padma Bhushan, Justice Ji is regarded the guiding light who planted the seed of Mahatma Gandhi Universal values among the young GIISians. Students understand and spread the significance of peace, tolerance, non-violence, integrity and humanity because of the inspiring ideas shared among them. His vision of transferring the Gandhian legacy will always be cherished in GIIS as the virtues of good citizen will be imparted to the next generation through a series of symposia, workshops, interactions and exhibitions organized from time to time as per our MGCUV (Mahatma Gandhi Center for Universal Values) programme. He has shared his life experiences during his association with Mahatma Gandhi in his books and his inspiring talks reflect his journey as a true Gandhian.

We, the GIIS family, salute the enlightened soul and pledge to continue his legacy in our endeavours. Justice Ji shall always continue to be in our hearts and we shall always put in our best efforts to promote his values and thoughts inspired by Mahatma Gandhi.
