Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida conducted a 15 day summer camp in May 2018, for the pre-primary and primary wing students in the school premises. Students from both the wings took an active part in activities like sports, art & craft, dance, etc. Summer vacations is a time when we all are ready to play our favourite sport or learn a new hobby, and summer camp is a perfect way to get all of it accomplished as children get a way to utilize their free time without being forced to study. In fact it’s that time of the year when school is all about play and enjoyment; children get to spend some quality time with their friends and learn something creative that adds an extra dimension to their personality. This year the summer camp at GIIS Noida culminated on 31st May, 2018 where the dance and art intakes of the camp exhibited their skills learned in the form of a stage show and exhibition put together to showcase to the parents what they have learned during the 15 day camp. The craft classes gave students an opportunity to use their imaginative skills and create some beautiful art pieces. They regularly used their creativity to create some out of the box artworks. Students made frames, paper flowers, wall hangings, pots, etc. using basic material like thermocol. Dance classes gave students to work up their muscles and sway to the beats of some popular songs which they had chosen themselves. Dance gave them an opportunity to express themselves through music and body movements. In sports, older children did some basic warm up exercises while tiny tots had their fun in the pool session under professional supervision of coaches and teachers. They had a gala time during the sport and swimming classes as there’s nothing like playing and swimming during summers. Children had fun and enjoyed to their fullest. Not missing even a single class during the camp, some of them wanted the camp to go on a little longer. We hope next year the camp is bigger and better and full of variety of activities to keep our energy houses occupied with self-learning. |
