Mother’s Day is a celebration honouring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in March, April, or May and at GIIS every year Mother’s Day is celebrated with much pomp and grandeur. This year too, on 9th May, students of GIIS Noida thanked their mothers through a series of fun activities. The mothers let their hair down and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

After the initial ice-breaking session, the little ones of Pre-primary participated in a singing activity, ‘Sing along with Mummy’. The mothers narrated stories using soft toys as props and captured the imagination of their little darlings. This was followed by an innovative activity on ‘Best out of Waste’. Mothers made doll’s houses with pieces of cane, wall hangings with used C.D., egg holders as wall hangings, chimes, pencil holders with pet bottles and other craft items. They enjoyed playing games and feasted on pot luck. The multi-purpose hall came to life with fun and frolic. The backdrop of the stage was a collage of mood shots of every mother with her child. The star attraction was ‘Fashion Show for Moms’, and the mothers walked the ramp with panache, flaunting their attires ranging from traditional, western to retro design. They enjoyed posing for the photo session. Finally, the programme came to an end with the mother-and-child duo thanking the teachers for taking care of the students and nurturing them with care.
