9th Annual day at GIIS Noida highlighted the importance of values in life

GIIS believes in imparting holistic education to its students where human values play an important role in making them better human beings. This pandemic has shown us that situations may change, but it is our values that help us to thrive under all circumstances. We can keep our heads up and imbibe the positive human values of respect, responsibility, kindness, happiness, gratitude, honesty, and resilience to lead a happy life, or let the temporary trouble bog us down and make us negative. The choice is completely ours.

During the 9 Annual day, the students of Pre-Primary of Global Indian International School displayed the importance of values in leading a successful, peaceful and a happy life through the Annual Presentation  “Sankalp” -  Learning to value, the values of life. It’s important that these values are to be nurtured from the early age. Values give us clear goals in our lives. They always guide us that how we should behave and act in different situations.

The virtual celebrations began by seeking blessings from the almighty in form of a prayer and a virtual lamp lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest Dr. Prabha Kiran Jain and Principal sir. This was followed by a trip down the memory lane where glimpses of all the activities conducted throughout the session were shared. The Principal - Mr. Ganesh Sharma, then presented the annual report that highlighted the achievements and success of the students and teachers.

Dr. Kiran then took up a moment to share her heartfelt gratitude and happiness on witnessing such young students performing brilliantly in front of the virtual audience. While addressing the gathering, she emphasized on the importance of imbibing values from early years and congratulated the GIIS team for choosing such a wonderful and relevant theme for the Annual Presentation.

Post her elaborate speech, students from pre-nursery and nursery welcomed everyone with their welcome song. Ms. Vaishali Borde - Head, Co-Scholastic & GMP, GIIS India also presided over the occasion as a special guest. In her speech, she shared some useful tips with the parents that can help them in raising their children to be good human beings and citizens.

The annual presentation began with six students presenting the value of Respect in form of a skit. They denoted the value by dressing up in black and white costumes and demonstrated the significance of the same through their expressions and dialogues. The second value presented was Responsibility where the students beautifully showcased their responsibility towards the mother Earth. Each participant had used colourful props and costumes to suit their character in the skit.

Next was Kindness, which was introduced with a dance performance. Children were dressed in yellow and blue costumes and put forth the importance of practicing kindness in life. Students then did a short presentation on the value of Honesty, for which they enacted the story -The Honest Woodcutter with colourful props and outfits.

Friends are the essence of life. The next value presented by the tiny tots was Friendship. Children from all the sections of K2 presented a skit followed by a dance presentation on the theme by nursery students. The little munchkins were all decked up in green and blue attires for their presentation.

The value Resilience was presented next. This value was shared in the most unique way possible i.e. a small skit was done by Chavi of KG B and her family to put forth the significance of the value. The skit was about how a family, inspite of all the challenges has adjusted and adapted during this pandemic and shown Resilience in this tough time.

The values of Gratitude and Happiness were presented next. The value of Gratitude was explained through a dance performance on the Gratitude song by the children of KG D, KG E, and KG C in red and blue attires. Lastly, the value happiness was demonstrated by the mothers and children dressed up in blue and black costumes dancing away to the tunes of the happiness song.

The virtual celebrations were concluded with a vote of thanks by the Pre-Primary Head Mistress, Ms. Rachna Jain. The event was loved and applauded by everyone i.e. parents, teachers, staff, and the chief guest. Just like the virtual sports meet conducted last year, the virtual annual day also received the same amount of love and appreciation from our dear parents. Here are some of their responses:

Reyansh Rajput’s (KG D) parent shared, “GIIS team has given us the solution of online studies where our child can learn at home. Truly speaking the experience is beyond our expectations. We have completed the whole session successfully and during the year, we have celebrated every festival and various events such as Story Telling activity, Sports day and now today we have successfully celebrated Annual Day as well. Such lovely performances by small little kids are truly appreciable. I would like to give my sincere regards to the whole GIIS Noida team for being such great support in these difficult times. You people really deserve great appreciation.”

Navisha Mittal’s (KG C) parent, wrote to us sharing, “I want to give special thanks to Shakti Mam & Deepika Mam who really made annual day successful and due to their great efforts our little munchkins were able to participate and give wonderful performances. We as Navisha’s parents feel proud of her excellent performance in skit and academics, and believe it will continue in similar fashion…!! Really thankful to the management for organizing the Virtual Annual function which carried the spirit during this Covid pandemic. The kids were in full energy and enjoyed a lot. Thanks again for all your efforts.”
