The Primary class students of GIIS Noida brought to life the theme of the play ‘Satya Ki Khoj’ or ‘In Pursuit of Truth’. The annual production revolved around the author of a book “Satrangi”, the sutradhar or the bard of the play who narrates her own story of how it came into being. Its author Gheenga Ram, a busybody and a naughty character who is a clueless gang leader sets out in search of truth. He meets many people in his sojourn for truth who advise him to meet a wise king from Chandrapur, Virbhadra Singh, famous for his justice. He explores all avenues and finally reaches the truth. Stories of different genres were interwoven together and the plight of the common man was also brought forward through this play.

This play progressively deals with the trials and tribulations of his journey. The stories were political satire, comedy and thought provoking, staged and played by a varied cast of characters. Here the common man in the political chakravyuh is given treatment in terms of the frame work of the theme. On his way he also visits a carnival which has the flavour of tamasha, folk music dance and art. It is colourful in terms of imagery and costume. Finally he reaches the kingdom that he has heard so much about. The kingdom welcomes them with food, dance, music and entertainment. The imagery, flavours of tamasha, dance and art made the setting colourful.

The platform brought the entire students of Classes IV to VIII together and provided them a wide exposure for the expression and fulfilment of creative, artistic and literary talent.

The Annual Day was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Major General P.S. Narwal A.V.S.M (Remount and Veterinary Corps), Mr. Rajeev Katyal - Country Director of GIIS India and Principal Mrs. Nandita Das Gupta by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The occasion was blessed with the presence of Guest of Honour Mr. Gregor Polson, Head of One World International School Singapore- managed by Global Schools Foundation. The award ceremony was also held in which prizes to the meritorious students in different fields such as academics, sports and innovation were given.

In his address to the gathering, the Honourable Chief Guest Major General P.S. Narwal praised the efforts of the students and the values imparted by the school. Mr. Rajeev Katyal talked about the Nine Gems learning framework of the school which is a comprehensive tool providing holistic development to the students. The joint efforts of parents and school for shaping the personality and character of the students was the underlying message of the programme.
