Hindi Hai Hum; GIIS Noida celebrates Hindi Diwas

Hindi is our national language, a language which gives us the identity of being an Indian and stand apart from the crowd of countless many. To celebrate the origin and promote usage of our mother tongue, Global Indian International School Noida celebrated Hindi Diwas over two days with complete spirit and gusto.

Hindi Diwas was celebrated to promote and enhance writing and reciting skills in the language. Students from both Montessori and Primary wing celebrated the occasion with full participation and fervour. Tiny tots of the school celebrated the day by actively participating in Chaupayi Vachan and Hindi poem recitation competition organized for KG and nursery students.  They were judged on rubrics like presentation, voice modulation, and confidence.

Students from grade I – IX put up a great show by taking part in various inter-house competitions organized on the theme. The celebrations started with a Nukad Natak performed by grade 6-9 students won the Inter-School Literacy Competition held at Sapphire International School, Noida. Our team of students, after competing with number of schools in the same category, won the competition for their exceptional theme and message put across.

Starting with the series of competitions, grade 1 and 2 students recited Chaupayis on stage. Students for each category were shortlisted in class by conducting prelims and semi-finals beforehand. Following this, Grade 3 and 4 students participated in Hasya Kavita and Vatsalya Ras Kavita competitions respectively. One after the other, students staged their performances with complete poise and confidence.

Grade 5 students, on the other hand, participated in skit competition based on love and patriotism towards the country. Each house had put such a great show that left everyone spellbound. Even the panel of judges present couldn’t stop praising them for their exceptional theatre and presentation skills. As the event moved towards its closure, students from grade 6-9 added icing to the baked cake, by enacting instances written by the very famous Munsi Premchand.

The objective behind conducting the celebrations was to mark the importance of language and enable students to understand and learn the meaning behind word quatrain activity. It also intended to foster team development and increase their knowledge about the language which is the origin our character. Through story and instance dramatization, the objective of bringing out the actual meaning of Munshi Premchand poems.
