Dharohar Club sets a new record!

INTACHGIIS Noida wins Second position in ‘Intach - Heritage Club of the year 2014’ Competition.

The heritage club ‘Dharohar’ has always motivated children to discover and value their rich culture and heritage. The school almanac is designed considering all the important days that matter to an internationally bound community. The students are sensitized at a global and local level as they participate in honouring and presenting highlights of the days that matter and engage them into numerous activities of the Heritage club. The Academic Session 2014-15 witnessed a great deal of zealous celebrations that created a deeper understanding and relevance of the national. The children had been engaged in many activities during the session 2014-15. They understood their surroundings in a better manner and raised awareness in order to preserve our natural, built and living heritages. It was an ideal opportunity to instill personal and social responsibility in our students. Throughout the year the students had worked on different topics ranging from preserving our environment to celebrating the enthusiasm of Republic Day. All the activities have deeply enlightened the minds of our children and made it a great enriching and learning experience for them.

INTACH judged the contribution of GIIS Noida on the following initiatives:

• World Heritage Day • World Dance Day • World Music Day • Earth Day • Population day • Van Mahotsav • Hiroshima Day (Peace Day) • Labour Day • International Youth day • Animal kingdom Week(13th to 17th October 2014) • World Heritage week (14th to 21st November). A detailed report about the activities conducted in the session 2014-2015 by GIIS Noida’s heritage club, ‘Dharohar’ was sent to Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) for evaluation. It is indeed a matter of pride that GIIS Noida has bagged the Second Position amongst all the schools who participated from all over India in the Best Heritage Club competition conducted by INTACH. The students felt motivated and were happy that their project was recognized by the authorities.

The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) is a Non-Profit NGO registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Since 1984, INTACH has pioneered the conservation and protection of India@aps@s natural and cultural heritage and is today the largest membership organization in the country dedicated to conservation. Today it has Chapters in 170 Indian cities, as well as Chapters in Belgium,[4] and the United Kingdom.
