“Daddy, My Guide and Friend – GIIS Noida celebrates Father’s Day with great fervour”

Pre-primary section of GIIS Noida, celebrated Father’s Day with great zeal and vigor over two days i.e. 4th march and 5th of March. This whole event explored the special bond of love and affection a father shares with his child.

The day began with fun in-class activities for children and their fathers. Each section engaged father-and-child duo through interactive activities like T-shirt printing, collage making and interpreting the story, memory games, clay modelling, chart painting, multiples of 7, minute to win, flip the pencil, rangoli making, etc. child-father duos had a small pot luck party where all the fathers got a chance to experience how little things like sharing food made their child happy and emotionally secure. All the kids presented their fathers with a made handmade tie, with their finger and thumbprints on the tie.

Second round of activities were outdoor, organized in the playground area. Ms. Nandita Dasgupta, Principal - GIIS Noida, addressed the parents. It was a treat to witness fathers participate with such great ardour. The outdoor event started with a relay race on problem solving and passing bean bags to their fathers as they crossed little hurdles coming their way. Fathers in return picked the correct answer and ran to reach the endpoint. Following this activity was popping the ball and tug of war, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

The participation strengthened the father-child relationship and brought out the best at individual and inter-personal levels. Every parent was happy to have contributed in creating a special memory for his child, and both would remember for years to come. Tiny tots were elated as they cheered for their fathers like never before; happy to see their papa becoming a kid again.

The sincere effort of the pre-primary staff from planning to execution was commendable. Fathers went back satisfied, looking forward to next Father’s Day celebration at their kids’ school.
