ConfluenceTo mark the beginning of the Academic Year 2015-16, Global Indian International School Noida presented Confluence; an orientation programme for parents.

Confluence was an amalgamation of thoughts, vision and values that GIIS worldwide stands for. The programme started with the lighting of the lamp of knowledge, followed by a spectacular Manipuri dance recital by Padmasree Guru Singhajit Singh and Danseur Smt. Charu Sija Mathur and their troop aided by Spic Macay. The dance programme was a sneak-peek into the rich cultural and musical heritage of Manipur which dates back to over thousands of years. The students were mesmerised by the brilliant dance performance.

The orientation programme started with a short introduction on the Vision and Mission of GIIS, and the endeavour of the campus to translate the philosophy of GSF in order to nurture every student. This was followed by an insight into the Pre-primary curriculum by Ms. Rachna Jain - Pre-primary Co-ordinator. Ms. Sunita Jaisingh - National Academic Head was also present on this occasion. She explained the assessment pattern for primary curriculum and also delved into the merits of Detailed Assessment that GIIS Noida will be using to track the overall performance of the students and their understanding of concepts. Mrs. Nandita Dasgupta, Principal GIIS Noida spoke about the school facilities and special initiatives of GIIS Noida. She also spoke of the multiple activities relating to 9 gems learning framework for the holistic growth of the children. She shared information on school timings, dos and don’ts, leave policy and other details regarding the functioning of the school. She thanked all parents for being a part of the GIIS family and urged each one to positively contribute to the growth of the institution that promises to shape generations.

The programme came to an end with words from little Ishani chowdhury, a GIIS student, who shared her experience at school and thanked her teachers for making learning a fun experience.
