Students showcase innovative ideas at 'What Works' workshop

'What Works' an initative of Knowledge and Human Development Authority, commenced in November 2018 with the theme ‘WHAT WORKS JOURNEY TO EXPO 2020 DUBAI’ to encourage and promote the practice sharing of best ideas among schools. Students from various schools were invited to present their innovative projects on ‘Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity' along with the main theme.

GIIS Dubai was one among the very few schools that got their entry shortlisted for the event. Students came up with the project of a Driverless Car and a Massive Constructor that runs on solar power.

The Driveless car displayed by our student Anna Annexe showed how sensors work, she futher explained the potential of programing to take decisions, while teammates Arnav Bhargava and Vanishka Shah spoke about how the enourmus fuel consumption in the massive constructions can be replaced with solar power. Many schools visited and highly appreciated our showcase, this included the principals, teachers and many visitors at the Emirates Aviation Institute.

It was a delight to watch GIIS Dubai students perform in the forum and to see how innovation implemented within the curriculum via Global Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is proving to be construcive with many more such  innovative ideas from the students.
