Dear Parent,

The month after summer break was filled with new and creative activities for the whole school community. September witnessed sessions that enabled students to be a part of various thought-provoking and skill-developing activities.

Kindergarteners participated in outdoor nature walk, gardening activities, brown day celebration, cleaning of Al Bustan (garden), 'iKnow Activity' celebrating International Peace Day along with  ‘I can eat a whole plant’, a cooking activity.

Students of Grade 1 to 11 participated in various assemblies commemorating Global media and literacy week, Importance of Books, Right to Education, Hindi Diwas along with an assembly based on the theme ‘Clean air for blue skies’. Assemblies were also held to mark Teacher's Day across all grades.

A group of 20 students enthusiastically participated in a Beach-clean up activity hosted by DULSCO in Jumeirah Beach. The beach clean-up inspired students to discuss the importance of responsible waste disposal. 

To spread awareness about the value of different languages, Hindi and French week were celebrated across grades.

As a part of in-house activities various events were organized based on the topic of gender equality and global warming. Through activities like this, GIIS Dubai focuses on creating an inclusive environment for everyone, by ensuring that all voices are heard and respected. Students discussed the hazards of climate change, created awareness posters and explored the importance of leading a sustainable life.

Our September assessments are concluded and we're looking forward to meeting all parents at parent-teacher meetings in October.
