Earth Hour - observed in Primary and Middle School

Written by: Karishma. Adhia

Earth Hour aims to increase awareness and spark global conversations on protecting nature not only to combat the climate crisis, but to ensure our own health, happiness, prosperity and even survival.

Earth Hour is an opportunity for millions of people all around the world to take part in Earth hour and show their support for climate change. To mark this occasion, our students of Global Indian International School, Dubai practiced switching off the lights for one hour (8:30pm-9:30pm) to make a substantial difference in energy consumption that can help reduce the effect of global warming on this planet.

There are many ways we can save energy on lighting.

1.     Don't over-light rooms. Over-lighting a room can waste a lot of energy.

2.     Install dimmers on your lights. Installing dimmers on your lights is an easy DIY project you can knock out to help save energy on lighting

3.     Put your lights on a timer.

4.     Turn lights off.

Let us pledge this from today and save our planet.
