“Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to another. We are strongest when we cheer each other on” is one profound expression of thought by Serena Williams which resonates with every woman in our society. Women are the building blocks of our future that is sustainable and peaceful. Women's Day celebrates the achievements of women of the past and present throughout the world. What better to celebrate the women in our lives than by their own family.

 At GIIS Bannerghatta, there was a special celebration on Women’s Day for all the mothers of children from grades 1, 2, and 3. Students of Grade 1 teamed up with their father and siblings and surprised their mothers with chocolate cakes and cookies showing how special their mother is. Students of grade 2 designed and created a beautiful crown for their mother acknowledging that they are the queen of their family. Some of them spoke, sang, and recited poems in praise of their mother.

For the moms of Grade 3, it was a surprise party by the dads and children. The mothers received special gifts, cakes, and special cards from the children. The mothers and their families also gathered for a virtual get-together with their children’s class teacher to share the joy and love that they received from their family. Our lovely children made Women’s Day a special and memorable one for mothers and our school.
