GIIS Bannerghatta Launches Exclusive Nikon Creative Lab

“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.” - Dorothea Lange

GIIS Bannerghatta continues to strengthen its vision of visual education with the introduction of the Youth & Kids Programme in collaboration with Nikon India. As part of this initiative, the Global School Group campuses in Karnataka are among the first to bring this structured programme into the school environment, opening up new avenues for creative learning.

The event was graced by Ms. Arya Chitra, General Manager, Youth & Kids School Programme from the Nikon team, who led an engaging and insightful session for students.

One of the key highlights of the day was the unveiling of a dedicated creative space on campus, designed to serve as a hub for photography, filmmaking, and digital storytelling. With access to essential tools and guided support, students can actively explore, experiment, and build their skills through hands-on learning.

Students also participated in an engaging orientation session, where they were introduced to how the programme works, including guided workshops, practical assignments, and opportunities to build portfolios. The session focused on developing visual literacy and equipping them with real-world media skills beyond the classroom.

Special attention was given to Grade 10 and Grade 12 students through an interactive session on the Youth Ambassador Programme. This initiative encourages students to take on leadership roles, represent their peers, and showcase their work while building strong creative portfolios.
