The summer camp at Global Indian International School, Bannerghatta, was an engaging experience where students explored a wide range of activities designed to build both skills and confidence. Each session was thoughtfully planned to encourage participation, curiosity, and hands-on learning in a fun and supportive environment.
Our camp offered a well-rounded mix of activities, including table tennis, gymnastics, coding, football, and art. These activities were carefully selected to ensure a balance between physical development, creative expression, and cognitive learning, allowing students to explore diverse interests while developing essential life skills.
In table tennis, students began with the basics such as grip, stance, and hand-eye coordination, gradually progressing to forehand and backhand strokes. The practice sessions were filled with energy, helping them improve focus, timing, and control while enjoying friendly rallies with their peers. Gymnastics sessions focused on developing strength, balance, and flexibility through movement exercises and body form practice. Students also explored foundational skills like the standing bridge, cartwheel, and wall-supported back handstand, where consistent practice and encouragement helped them gain confidence in their abilities.
Coding sessions introduced students to block-based programming, where they used drag-and-drop blocks to make characters move and respond to commands. This hands-on approach sparked curiosity and logical thinking as they experimented, created simple animations, and collaborated with peers to solve challenges. Football sessions added high energy to the camp, with students practising fitness drills along with essential skills like receiving, passing, and dribbling while also learning teamwork and coordination on the field.
Art sessions provided a calm and creative space where students explored watercolour basics, colour mixing, and mask making. They expressed their imagination through vibrant and unique creations, enjoying the freedom to experiment with colours and designs.
Overall, the summer camp offered a balanced blend of learning, creativity, and physical activity, allowing students to grow, explore, and enjoy meaningful experiences together.
