GIIS Tokyo Kindergarten Celebrates Vibrant Yellow Day

The recent celebration of Yellow Day at GIIS Tokyo Kindergarten's GMP (Global Montessori Programme) campuses in Seishincho and Kitakasai was a vibrant event, embodying the spirit of joy and creativity. The tiny tots participated with great enthusiasm, dressed in elegant yellow outfits complemented by playful accessories like eye-shades, hats, and clips, along with creative face paintings that added a touch of whimsy to the occasion.

This special day coincided with our Open Day, providing an excellent chance for parents to immerse themselves in the dynamic learning environment that GIIS fosters. It was a showcase of our state-of-the-art facilities, interactive classrooms, and the holistic approach to education that is central to our school’s ethos.

Throughout the day, our kindergarten students engaged in a variety of yellow-themed activities that encouraged creativity and critical thinking. These activities included decorating corridors with their funny faces, crafting Pooh face masks, creating vibrant sunflowers, assembling yellow color windmills, and participating in a magic box sorting activity. Each was designed not only for fun but also to enhance their fine motor skills and cognitive development, aligning with the Creative and Critical Thinking core of the GIIS 9 GEMS framework.

The Open Day also facilitated meaningful interactions among parents, teachers, and students, strengthening our community bonds. It provided parents with a clear insight into how their children are being nurtured to grow into global citizens, showcasing our commitment to Global Citizenship and Academic Excellence. The enthusiasm of the parents was palpable as they appreciated the academic and personal development opportunities afforded to their children, evident through the day’s activities.

A memorable highlight was the ‘selfie’ take, where everyone captured joyful moments, creating memories to cherish. This activity was not just enjoyable but also underscored the Universal Values and Community Care we prioritize at GIIS, fostering a sense of belonging and shared happiness among all attendees.

Overall, Yellow Day at GIIS Tokyo Kindergarten was more than just a celebration of a color; it was a day that reflected our comprehensive educational philosophy, incorporating various facets of the GIIS 9 GEMS. It provided a platform for our students to demonstrate their skills and for parents to witness firsthand the positive impact of our educational approach, ensuring a nurturing and vibrant community for everyone involved.
