GIIS Tokyo recently organised a prestigious University Fair at the Nishikasai Campus Auditorium on Saturday, June 29, 2024, featuring 13 universities from Japan from Australia. Participating universities included the Crown Institute of Higher Education (CIHE), International Christian University (ICU), International College of Liberal Arts at Yamanashi Gakuin University (iCLA), Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS), Meiji Gakuin University, Nagoya University (NU), Nagoya University of Commerce and Business (NUCB), Ritsumeikan University (RU), Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Temple University Japan Campus (TUJ), Tokyo International University (TIU), University of Aizu (UoA), University of Tsukuba, and Waseda University.
The University Fair serves as a vital platform for students to explore diverse educational opportunities, gain insights into admission processes, and interact with university representatives. This initiative highlights GIIS Tokyo's commitment to providing high-quality education and necessary guidance, empowering students to become global leaders. By hosting such events, GIIS Tokyo continues to demonstrate its dedication to educational excellence and its mission to produce well-rounded individuals prepared to make significant contributions to society.
The fair commenced with a warm welcome from Senior Principal Ms. Madhu Khanna, who set an enthusiastic tone for the day. This was followed by engaging speeches from Mr. Anubhav Seth, the Global Head of Career Counselling and University Guidance at the Global School Group (GSG), and Dr. Md. Mukhlesur Rahman, the Career Counsellor at GIIS Tokyo. Mr. Seth passionately highlighted the mission of GSG and the importance of partnerships between universities and GIIS for smoother student placement, while Dr. Rahman outlined key highlights and guidelines of the event.
This year the University Fair was also in collaboration with the GIISMUNTOKYO 2024 programme allowed international delegates from schools such as OWIS Whitefield, Witty International School (Bhilwara and Udaipur), Vikasa World School, Glendale Academy, St. Johnsbury Academy, Harrods International Cambodia, and GIIS campuses in Ahmedabad, Balewadi, Noida, Malaysia, Ponggol Campus Singapore, and Whitefield to engage directly with university representatives.
A total of 441 participants, including students and parents from 10 nearby Tokyo schools, attended the fair, gaining valuable insights into admission processes and educational opportunities. Students and parents from UIA International School, Indian International School Japan (IISG), Misato High School, Ichinoye High School, UWC ISAK Japan, St. Mary’s International School, Gyosei International High School, Tokyo Bay International School, Canadian International School Tokyo, Setagaya Municipal Todoroki School, and other attendees moved between booths to gather information. Representatives from the Information Management Innovation Professional College (iU) also visited to observe the event.
At the end of the fair, Mr. Anubhav Seth delivered an insightful presentation on the 'Scope of University Collaboration between Global School Group (GSG), and Japanese Universities,' which was met with keen interest and numerous questions from university representatives. The success of the University Fair 2024 was a testament to GIIS Tokyo's unwavering commitment to excellence and its ability to create significant opportunities for students while strengthening ties with leading universities.
