GIIS Hadapsar Students Sharpen Listening Skills Through Acting Workshop

Students at GIIS Hadapsar recently participated in an engaging and enriching acting workshop conducted by theatre expert Advait Suresh Iyer, aimed at strengthening their listening skills through interactive learning.

The session stood out for its use of theatrical games designed to improve focus, responsiveness, and group coordination. Among the highlights was the popular activity “Zip Zop Zoh,” which required students to pass an imaginary ball based on specific verbal cues—“zip” for left, “zop” for right, and “zoh” for straight ahead. The game encouraged participants to stay alert, respond swiftly, and work cohesively as a team.

Students took part enthusiastically, demonstrating keen interest and active involvement throughout the workshop. The hands-on approach not only made learning enjoyable but also reinforced the importance of attentive listening as a key communication skill.

Mr. Iyer’s expert guidance and supportive teaching style created an environment where students felt confident to participate and express themselves freely. The workshop resulted in noticeable improvements in students’ concentration levels, coordination, and overall teamwork.

The session effectively showcased how experiential learning methods, particularly through theatre, can play a vital role in developing essential life skills among students.
