The GMP section of GIIS Hadapsar organised a meaningful i-Care: Water Conservation Awareness Activity to help young learners understand the importance of saving water and adopting environmentally responsible habits from an early age.

As part of the initiative, teachers introduced students to simple yet effective water conservation practices through a colourful and interactive chart. Children learned practical ways to save water, including watering plants wisely, taking shorter showers, turning off taps while brushing their teeth, fixing leaking faucets, and washing fruits and vegetables in a bowl. The activity reinforced the powerful message, "Save Water, Save Life," encouraging students to value every drop of water.

To deepen their understanding, a Rainwater Harvesting Model was displayed and explained to the students. The demonstration showed how rainwater can be collected, stored, and reused instead of being wasted. The visual presentation helped children appreciate the importance of conserving natural resources and understand how rainwater harvesting contributes to sustainable living.

Adding a practical dimension to the learning experience, students enthusiastically participated in the "Checking the Faucet in the Washroom" activity under the guidance of their teachers. They visited the washrooms to ensure that taps were properly turned off after use and learned that even a small dripping faucet can waste a significant amount of water over time. With teacher support, the children also practised using only the required amount of water and closing taps carefully after use.

The hands-on activities made learning both engaging and meaningful, inspiring students to become responsible water savers. Their enthusiastic participation reflected a growing awareness of environmental responsibility and the importance of adopting sustainable habits in everyday life.

Through this enriching i-Care initiative, GIIS Hadapsar successfully encouraged students to understand that simple daily actions can make a significant difference in conserving water and protecting the planet for future generations.
