Global Indian International School (GIIS), Hadapsar, celebrated the spirit of giving, kindness and social responsibility through its month-long Joy of Giving initiative. The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from students of Nursery to Grade 12, along with teachers and staff members, who contributed essential food grains, cooking oil and stationery materials for children in need.
As part of the initiative, a delegation comprising Student Council members, the Principal, the School Coordinator, the Student Council In-Charge Teacher, Mr. Himalay from the administration team and other administrative staff visited Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Prathmik Shala Ashram Shala at Bhekarai, Tukai Darshan, on 14 October 2026. The team handed over the collected donations and spent time interacting with the children, making the visit a meaningful experience of sharing and learning.
The visit offered Student Council members an opportunity to connect with the children, exchange experiences and build bonds through meaningful conversations. These interactions encouraged students to understand the importance of kindness, inclusivity, mutual respect and helping others.
Adding to the warmth of the occasion, the children of the Ashram Shala recited inspiring poems, followed by poetry recitations by the GIIS Student Council members. The exchange created a cheerful atmosphere and provided a platform for both groups to express their creativity and confidence.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal shared an engaging story highlighting the importance of choosing good company and making positive choices in life. His message encouraged the students to uphold strong moral values and understand how their actions and associations contribute to shaping their character.
The Joy of Giving initiative also reflected the core values of the GIIS 9 GEMS educational framework, particularly Personality Development, Ethics and Values, Community Connect, and Leadership. By engaging students in a meaningful community initiative, the school reinforced the importance of holistic development, responsible citizenship and leading by example.
With participation from learners across all grades, the initiative fostered a culture of generosity and service within the school community. It reminded students that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
The initiative was more than a donation drive; it was an opportunity for students to practise empathy, express gratitude and understand the value of selfless service. Through this collective effort, GIIS Hadapsar reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing compassionate, responsible and socially conscious individuals who contribute positively to society.
