The IBDP Open House 2026 at Global Indian International School, SMART Campus, Singapore, was successfully conducted on Saturday, 11 April 2026. The event brought together prospective parents and students for an engaging and informative introduction to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). It served as a valuable platform to showcase the academic rigour, holistic approach, and global outlook that define the IB experience at GIIS.
The Open House was thoughtfully structured to provide visitors with a comprehensive understanding of the programme. Department-wise stalls were set up across disciplines, allowing families to interact directly with subject experts and explore the breadth of subject offerings. Each stall featured carefully curated displays, including student-designed posters, subject guides, and exemplary work such as Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) presentations. These displays not only reflected academic depth but also highlighted the emphasis on inquiry, critical thinking, and real-world application.
A key highlight of the event was the active involvement of IB Year 1 student representatives. Their presence added authenticity and depth to the interactions, as they shared first-hand experiences of the programme, explained subject choices, and spoke about their academic and co-curricular journeys. Their confidence, clarity, and enthusiasm provided prospective families with meaningful insights into student life within the IBDP.
In addition to the stall interactions, a series of academic presentations were conducted by Heads of Department in the Seminar Hall. These sessions offered deeper insights into subject expectations, assessment structures, and the development of essential skills required for success in the IB and beyond. The Career Counselling and University Guidance (CCUG) team also played a crucial role by engaging with parents and students, outlining university pathways, subject selection strategies, and the strong track record of placements at leading global institutions.
The event further highlighted GIIS’s position as a leading IB World School in the region. With over 125 IB toppers, 44 near-perfect scorers, and more than 400 students placed in top universities worldwide, the school continues to demonstrate excellence in academic outcomes. Its distinction as the only K–12 international school in Singapore with the Edu Trust Star certification reinforces its commitment to quality and global standards in education.
Overall, the IBDP Open House 2026 was a vibrant and impactful event that successfully captured the essence of the IB philosophy at GIIS. It not only strengthened engagement with prospective families but also showcased the collaborative efforts of faculty and students in delivering a meaningful and transformative educational experience. The event stood as a testament to GIIS’s dedication to nurturing reflective, inquiring, and globally minded learners prepared for the challenges of the future.
